Open to members and the general public, ages 3 and up.
Each session includes six swim lessons

Level 1(a): Water Exploration
For children 3 years old and up. This class is intended to help your child begin learning basic water skills, and feel comfortable away from the wall of the pool. Skills that are taught at this level are:
- Learning how to blow bubbles through mouth and nose,
- Holding breath under water,
- Getting face wet with eyes open,
- Learning how to float on both front and back,
- Fully submerging when jumping into the water,
- Correct entry/exit of the pool, and
- Wall crawl
Level 1(b): Continuation of Water ExplorationBefore reaching this level the student must be comfortable in the water away from the pool wall, be able to do a front and back float unassisted, be able to totally submerge head under water while blowing bubbles through mouth and nose. At this level the student will continue to practice skills learned in Level 1(a), along with:
- Jellyfish and tuck floats,
- Front and back glide,
- Tread water,
- Dive under the water with eyes open to retrieve an object,
- Freestyle arm and leg movements, and
- Continued progression from a bicycle kick to a flutter kick
Level 2: Stroke Development and RefinementBefore reaching this level, the student must be able to perform all skills learned in Levels 1(a) and 1(b) with confidence. At this level the student will continue to practice skills learned in Level 1(b), along with:
- Jump into 5 feet of water totally submerging while opening eyes, holding breath and swimming back to the pool wall,
- Coordinated freestyle arm/leg movements,
- Rhythmic breathing,
- Backstroke arm/leg movements,
- Introduction to elementary backstroke and scissor kick, and
- Change directions while swimming
